The Allergy-Animal-Panel-Confirmatory test involves the in-vitro serum testing for IgE antibodies produced against possible allergens introduced into the blood serum. The traditional method of scraping the skin after the allergens are introduced into the skin for testing is really painful. The allergens usually used for the test include cat epithelium & dander, dog dander, cow dander and horse dander which are from the commonly domesticated animals living close to humans. In the real-time scenario, these allergens cause severe allergic reactions like itching, skin rashes, watery eyes, Allergic rhinitis and severe breathing problems in Asthma patients and in others. Some allergies are non-IgE mediated and hence other test methodologies might be followed to detect such allergies.
